So I thought I would look back and remind myself how I got here and of those defining moments as well as get you up to spend on where I am now. I’m sorry if it’s a bit repetitive.
I remember when I signed up for the world race and being nervous about the interview and whether I would get into the 11 month program I wanted to be in.
I remember watching my family and friends come together to support me financially and through prayer and cheering me on.
I remember writing my first blog and writing about the strangers I would soon be spending 24/7 with.
I remember meeting those strangers and when they were just a name to me.
I can’t quite remember a moment, because it couldn’t have been just one moment, those strangers became more than that.
I remember sleeping in the airport in Atlanta Georgia.
I remember sleepless nights in Guatemala.
I remember spending 5 hours and too much money to get to a volcanic black sand beach.
I remember the kids, their smiling faces and joyful voices when we danced like maniacs to songs I barely could understand.
I remember serving sometimes drunk homeless men food and watching them listen to worship and wonder whether they understood it.
I remember being surprised at the sadness of saying goodbye to Guatemalans.
I remember 30 hours, 1 bus ride, 4 plane rides and 2 train rides and A walk around the towns square full of Christmas lights arriving in Romania.
I remember living in a house with 30 people and going to ministry every day with the same people and never getting tired of it.
I remember eating a thanksgiving meal while admiring the baby pictures of those every same people.
I remember Romania being a place of prayer, praying day and night.
I remember spiritual warfare in Romania and praying over the a grateful pastor.
I remember running through rain.
I remember handing out boxes full of gifts to smiling kid’s faces and singing Christmas carols and telling them the story of Jesus’ birth and how important his birth is to our salvation.
I remember missing home.
I remember when we handed out packages full of the Bible and inviting random strangers on the streets to church using cooking spices stapled on the outside to grab attention.
I remember trying my best to comfort people on my squad and never knowing the right way to.
I remember asking the Lord where in Romania my team should go next and who he wants us to minister to.
I remember helping kids Rehearse their Christmas program.
I remember planning a Christmas lunch for 28 other people.
There is so much to remember So here’s a brief description of the first three months of my Race. Stay turned for part 2.
Thanks y’all for reading!
